AI mock interview: practice out loud with a live AI recruiter
An AI mock interview lets you practice answering a recruiter's questions before the real thing. With Hopali, an AI recruiter reads your résumé and the job description, interviews you out loud in a live conversation, then shows you in your own words what works and what to rework.
How does an AI mock interview work?
An AI mock interview recreates a real interview: you're asked a question, you answer out loud, and you get feedback. On Hopali it takes four steps:
- Build your brief. Add your résumé and the job description. The AI recruiter pulls out what matters, and you check and correct it before the call.
- Take the recruiter screen, out loud. Introduction, background, motivation, a concrete example, your questions: about ten minutes, like the real thing. You can cut in and the recruiter follows up.
- Read your feedback. Every comment quotes something you actually said: what works, and the one thing to rework first.
- Take the hiring manager interview. The second round is more concrete: the role itself, a scenario, how you work.

Question lists, recorded answers or a live conversation: what's the difference?
Mock interview tools fall into three groups:
- Question lists. Good for discovering common questions, but you never say anything out loud.
- Recorded answers. A question appears, you record your answer, you move on. It is spoken practice, but nobody reacts to what you just said.
- A live conversation. The recruiter listens, pushes back when an answer stays vague and builds on what you said. It is the closest format to a real phone screen or video interview.
Hopali is a live conversation: your voice is streamed in real time, with live captions so you can keep track of your own words.

What the feedback scores (and what it doesn't)
Feedback is about your answers, never about you. Five criteria are scored from 1 to 4, or "not observed" when the interview gave you no chance to show it:
- Relevance: does your answer address the question that was asked?
- Concrete evidence: do you give an example, a context, a result?
- Reasoning: do you explain why you did what you did?
- Clarity: is your answer easy to follow?
- Preparation: do you know the role and the company?
The simulator does not judge your accent, your voice or your personality, and it does not predict any hiring decision.

Who is it for?
- You have an interview coming up and want to say your answers out loud once before the day.
- You're applying for an internship or your first job: class projects, part-time jobs and volunteering make good examples, as long as you say what you did yourself.
- You're changing careers and need to explain your path without sounding defensive.
- Your interview is in French: Hopali works in English and French.
How much does it cost?
Your first recruiter screen is free, up to ten minutes, with a feedback preview: one strength and one thing to rework. The Practice Pack is a one-time purchase that unlocks full feedback, exercises, the hiring manager interview and 90 minutes of interviews for all your applications. The price is shown before you pay. There is no subscription and minutes don't expire.
How to get the most out of a mock interview
- Recreate interview conditions: a quiet room, headphones, your résumé in front of you only if you'd have it on the day.
- Answer as if it were real, without stopping to start over. That's what makes the feedback useful.
- Rework one answer at a time. The priority point in your feedback is enough for the next attempt.
- Do it again. The second time, compare your answer with the first one: that's where you see progress.

Can the AI recruiter predict whether I'll get the job?
No. Feedback applies to the practice interview, never to you as a person. The AI recruiter does not represent any employer and does not predict hiring decisions.
